The 62 room boutique hotel has an art deco inspired cocktail bar, panoramic skyline views with a 14-meter rooftop pool, deck bar and terrace.

Located in the up and coming food and arts hub district of Chippendale buzzing with cafes and converted warehouses the hotel also embodies an urban grunge by plastering its lobby with contemporary band posters. The amber glass atrium links the two heritage listed edifices; the 1939 Art Deco pub and the Victorian-era Carlton United Breweries building. Undertaking an intricate four-year renovation by designers Tonkin Zulaikha Greer Architects who intentionally retained heritage elements by combining the opposing new age interior aesthetics in order to create and transform it into an artistically delightful contemporary hotel.

In addition, the PARISI range was also implemented in an additional five elegant bathrooms suitable for accessible functionality with the inclusion of the Envy Basin Mixer with Extended Lever, Envy Wall Mixer with Extended Lever, Envy Hand Shower on Rail and the Tondo Shower Shelf.

The Old Clare Hotel has been awarded numerous accolades including the prestigious Conde Nast Traveller award for Best New Hotels in the World, Australian Gourmet Traveller Hotel Guide Awards for Boutique Hotel of the Year 2016, Gourmet Traveller’s Boutique Hotel of the Year in 2017 and many more. The design focused Kensington Street hotel is a visual delight with its distressed exposed brick walls, original tiles, heritage timber paneling and industrial age cornices. All the rooms feature soaring ceilings, over-sized original framed windows, solid spotted Australian gum floors and custom made pendant light fixtures.

Thoughtful detail include merino blankets, goose-down duvets and a personalised pillow order service. Unique mid-century furniture has been chosen to celebrate the history of the two buildings whilst the vibrant Australiana themed cushions are a stark contrast to the stylish desk lamps fashioned from vintage engine parts from London firm The Rag and Bone Man.

Sleek in design and with a modern and neutral palette of white, grey and black the spacious bathrooms are wrapped in clear glass walls reflecting additional light which creates the perception of an abundance of space. The bathrooms come packed with plant-based toiletries from Triumph & Disaster while the bathrobes are luxuriously soft and inviting.

The minimalist glass box bathroom features a rich dark wood vanity and is fitted with a double sink basin. The stylish sleek lines and bold curves of the PARISI chrome tapware is highlighted throughout the hotel’s bathrooms enhancing the overall contemporary feel of this ultra-modern space by showcasing each individual fixtures distinctive designs.
